DJ Slick also known as ‘Mr. Slicker Than Your Average’ is one of UK’s leading underground DJ’s on the circuit. Known for his ambitious, hard working and outgoing personality Slick has made a major impact in such a short period of time creating a strong following within the music scene.
Slick’s musical journey began from an early age; having a love for music from when he was just a toddler and being inspired by his Dad who was a DJ on a well-known London based sound system. At the age of 12, Slick was given his first pair of turntables on which he rapidly learnt the skill of mixing and began to truly understand music.
Since the age of 15, Slick has maintained numerous slots on pirate radio stations while simultaneously establishing himself as a strong force within the music industry. He is regularly booked as the main DJ at Celeb U.S Artist After Parties in the U.K for the likes of Drake, Trey Songz, Tyga, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Omarion & Black Eyed Peas to name a few as well as previously warming up at concerts for the likes of Rick Ross and Wiley.
You can catch Slick regularly entertaining crowds at different venues around London week in week out including a mid-week residency in the West End and a monthly residency at The Forum in Hertfordshire. He is also no stranger to the main cities around the UK already able to add Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham, Southampton, Brighton and Watford to his repertoire of bookings.
In addition Slick plays abroad annually building up a history of bookings in Spain, Jamaica, Portugal, Antigua, Cyprus & France including a major booking for an after party at the world renowned ‘Cannes Film Festival’.
Being a versatile DJ playing genres from Hip Hop to Dancehall to House, Slick has also managed to develop and market himself as a strong brand. “Don’t You Know Who I Am? Clothing” was a clothing brand launched in 2008, which collaborates with his globally popular Mix CD series. Slick is also a regular organiser and promoter of large music events including his own branded club night “So Slick” established in 2008. These nights have previously been held in some of the UK’s finest nightclubs and have attracted crowds of 1500+.
Slick has featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra showcasing his outstanding Guest Mixes and is the official DJ for the ‘I Love Comedy’ show, created by popular UK Comedian ‘Kevin J’.
Working towards his goals of being not just a distinguished DJ but a prominent personality, Slick has now started online presenting in the form of video interviews with musicians, comedians, actors etc. He is also launching a brand new weekly music pod cast show available on his popular iTunes channel with hopes of securing a slot on a legal commercial radio station.
